MEEHOA History

MEEHOA History Our association was first incorporated in 1988 as the "Mount Elden Lookout Road Homeowners Association, Inc." It was incorporated again in 1993 under the same name. Those latter incorporation documents are still effective. (The reason for incorporating again was because reports were not filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission, and the corporation was cancelled.) As some of you will remember, the association was responsible for maintaining Mount Elden Lookout Road from the 2-acre forest service parcel east and our neighborhood as well. This was a big drain on our resources and finances. In 2004 Coconino County assumed the responsibility of maintaining and plowing Mount Elden Lookout Road (aka Elden Lookout Road). Soon after this event the association board made the decision to revise the bylaws which were originally written in 1989. A committee consisting of board member Barbara Brunner and board secretary Diana Herron worked on this revision. The most important change was to rename the association Mount Elden Estates Homeowners Association (MEEHOA); my recollection is that Ladd Vagen suggested the new name. The corporation name did not change, so now the association is Mount Elden Lookout Road Homeowners Association dba (doing business as) Mount Elden Estates Homeowners Association. Another significant change was to redefine the area covered by the association, eliminating MELR from our association's responsibility. The board approved the revised bylaws, and on October 9, 2005, the secretary sent out a letter (attached) and a ballot to all association members. The revised bylaws were approved by the membership, and on June 9, 2006, the revised bylaws were filed with Coconino County by Barbara Brunner.
